Refinery OperationS
Wood delivered a process Operator Training Simulator (OTS) for this refinery. Their OTS is designed to familiarize their operators with various upset scenarios, ensuring that they can safely bring the plant back to normal operations while minimizing downtime when these inevitable, yet common scenarios that occur in the real plant.
The refinery OTS is integrated with a fully functioning VR-simulator of the plant that provides an immersive environment for the control room operators and field operators to train and “operate” in a one-to-one virtual replica of the real plant. They are able to “simulate” carry out operations simultaneously, just as they would in the real plant.
Recycling Plant Operations
Wood delivered a process Operator Training Simulator (OTS) for this plant that repurposes rubbish by incinerating the remains and storing them in large ovens. The heat generated from the process produced steam for turbines, ultimately generating electricity for thousands of households.
The OTS is routinely used the plant operators to safely familiarize them with the various operations associated with their process.
Crude Distillation Unit
Wood delivered a hi-fidelity process Operator Training Simulator (OTS) for the crude distillation unit (CDU) for this plant. The CDU processes both light and heavy crude oil to produce products like LPG, light naphtha, heavy naphtha, kerosene, cracked gas oil, light vacuum gas oil, heavy vacuum gas oil, and vacuum residue.
The OTS guided operators to familiarize themselves with this hazardous environment without any risk, all from the comfort of their own desired location.
OFFSHORE OIL & GAS OPERATIONS
Wood delivered an Engineering Simulator (ES) and an Operator Training Simulator (OTS) for this offshore oil production and gathering asset. A single-well ES model was initially developed and used to perform a process feasibility assessment. Once feasibility was confirmed, for the next phase of this project, a full-field ES model was developed and used for performing further design studies.
The OTS was then deployed for operator training on the operating procedures for the subsea and topsides process systems and evaluate emergency response.
MINING OPERATIONS
Wood delivered an Operator Training Simulator (OTS) for a mining operations. The mine, which produces molybdenum that can be used to harden steel. This mining OTS is used to familiarize the operators with the various operations associated with the facility.
FOOD & BEVERAGE OPERATIONS
A VP Linked-based Operator Training Simulator (OTS) is used at this food & beverage operations. The plant involves the product fermentation, processing and bottling operations. The OTS is used for operator training with the various phases of their operations.
