Cape Software is an experienced provider of products and engineering services that assist with factory acceptance testing (FAT), application of control system logic validation and documentation, automated SIS proof testing, and operator training.
Cape Software offers VP Link, a software that is used for Operator Training and to simulate the field devices during the testing phase of process control systems. A VP Link OTS (Operator Training Simulator system) provides both newly acquainted operators and veteran operators to familiarize themselves with a one-to-one virtual recreation of a live plant. This notably cuts the cost by reducing the risk of on-site accidents and reducing travel costs.

INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS
VP Link provides a fit-for-purpose fidelity dynamic representation of a process (i.e., Virtual Process Practice Plant).
The VP Link simulation engine is a tag-based simulator. It operates a client-server architecture with the server holding all I/O points, simulation database, internal calculation tags and executes the process simulation calculations. It is possible to attach a calculation to any tag, as well as assign a communication address in the control system. This allows the I/O layer to connect directly in with the underlying simulation.
VP Link can be connected to an offline copy of a control system. VP Link reads the control system outputs and calculates the virtual process state through hybrid process modeling. When VP Link is connected to a distributed control system (DCS), safety instrumented system (SIS), or programmable logic controller (PLC), the system’s logic will react to signals from the virtual process as if it were interacting with a live system.
From simple to sophisticated process modeling in a continuous framework, VP Link effectively addresses a client’s simulation demands.

Cross-platform functionalities make VP Link a portable, easy-to-reconfigure solution. VP Link offers a cost-effective simulation package for use in Operator Training Simulator (OTS) system, providing an appropriate level of rigor and fidelity of the simulation as required by our Clients’ use cases.
VP Link’s simulation functionalities are used to conduct comprehensive logic validation of control and safety systems. VP Link simulations offer an encompassing test bed for rigorous testing and validation of control logic, enable periodic or programmatic logic validation, and facilitate system change or migration management.
